Screen Printing

Screen printing is a process where inks are applied with a squeegee to a garment by forcing them through a mesh (called a "screen"). To create a design for screen printing, each section of the design that would require a different color of ink is isolated, then burned onto its own screen. This is called color separating. More colors in a design mean that more screens need to be burned, which will in turn cost you more money in screen preparation and production time. Quali T offers up to 6 colors per screen print design. (any quantity of color in the design over 6 colors we would recommend Direct to Film digital transfers- see below) Screen Prep fee is $35/screen or color of ink.

Quali T keeps all screens on file for one year from each and every purchase. So, if you ordered in July and want to reorder in May the following year, the screen is still on file. After one year, there will be a $25 charge for recreating your screen.

Artwork for Screen Printing

Artwork submitted to Quali T for screen printing must be 250 dpi (dots per inch) and at the size you want it to appear on your garment. Quali T can screen print up to 6 colors per design per imprint location. We offer Pantone Matching System (PMS) color matching; please list the colors desired. We cannot guarantee 100% color matching to computer-printed designs, since printing on paper yields different results than when printing on garments.

Embroidery

Embroidery is a process where designs are sewn by computerized embroidery machines onto a garment. Pricing is based on stitch count which equates to machine time to run these jobs.

Sublimation

Sublimation process allows for full-color, full customized, all-over designs that can be applied seam to seam. The inks are infused directly into the fabric's fibers creating vibrant, long-lasting, and soft prints that won't crack, peel or fade with washing. This is ideal for sports uniforms or activewear and other frequently laundered apparel.

Digital Transfers/ Direct to Film

Direct to film is the process where a design is printed onto a special film, coated with an adhesive powder and then transferred to a garment using a heat press. This method is versatile because it can be used on various fabrics. The resulting prints are durable and vibrant. Artwork submitted must be at least 360 dpi (dots per inch) and at the size you want it to appear on your garment. The higher the resolution the nicer it will look on the product. Customer supplied Vector or Photoshop files are acceptable. Art may be altered to meet print requirements.

Embossing or Debossing

Embossing is a technique that uses heat and pressure with a custom metal mold to create a permanent, raised, 3D design or logo on the fabric. It gives the garment a premium look similar to embroidery but a smoother feel. Debossing uses that same technique with a metal mold but instead of being raised it is sunken into the fabric.

Chenille

Chenille embroidery is a technique that creates a thick, 3D, fluffy, carpet-like texture on garments by layering loops of yarn. This is often seen on varsity letter jackets and athletic apparel, but becoming widely more popular on fleece sweatshirts.

Laser Engraving on Fabric

Laser engraving on fabric is a method that uses a focused laser beam to etch or mark designs directly onto fabric by removing or altering the top later of material. This process creates permanent patterns without ink, thread or physical contact. Often resulting in a tone-on-tone look. Suitable for cotton, polyester and leather.

Design Prep Fees

There is a $25 charge for artwork preparation for designs submitted in a vectorized electronic art files (.eps or .ai) for proofing purposes. Design services for custom logos = $50 min. If you are requesting creative logos/designs $75 per hour (minimum $150.00 per creative work).
